Create Social Media Content with AI Assistance
(3 chapters - approximately 30 Minutes)
Hello, everybody, and welcome to the social media visual generation, where you will prepare your social media strategy and create social media content for your book with the assistance of AI.
As always, you remain in the driver’s seat. AI does not take control of the process; you give it direction and decide how it will assist you. Despite what some people may believe, using AI is not simply a matter of typing a few words and receiving a finished masterpiece.
You are in command. Your name will appear on the final work, and you are the author.
You begin with a short intake process. You will answer several questions, upload your story materials, and identify your primary social media objective. Using that information, AI will help prepare the character profiles, book bible, social media theme guide, and approved content concepts needed for your social media visuals.
In the next stage, you may upload visual references connected to your story, such as your book cover, character images, logo, or other established visual elements. These references will help AI create visuals that support your selected social media objective.
Your content may include book quotes, scene teasers, character-focused posts, book-release announcements, and other promotional concepts.
For every selected concept, you will create three versions:
- Square image
- Vertical image
- Horizontal image
Each version is created in a social-media-ready format, so you can use it without manually changing the image dimensions.
There is one important requirement for this course: I recommend using a paid ChatGPT account. This workflow involves repeated file uploads, and image generation. Free accounts have stricter usage limits, including a limit of three file uploads per day, and image creation may also be more restricted than on paid plans.
Please also keep in mind that AI for Indie Authors is an independent platform. Neither this website nor I am affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or compensated by OpenAI.
This is the first lesson in which you will prepare your social media content concepts by giving AI the information it needs to understand your book.
In this chapter, you will download and complete an Excel workbook called the Social Media Content Intake. You will need to complete a separate workbook for each book for which you want to create social media content.
The workbook asks for information such as:
- Your book title
- Whether the book is part of a series
- Its primary genre
- Your target audience
- The book’s release status
- The main goal of your social media content, such as supporting sales, promoting a new release, or preparing for a launch
- The type of content you want to create, such as character introductions, short excerpts, book-release announcements, and other promotional content
AI will use this information together with your supporting documents, such as your manuscript, character bios, or book bible, to prepare your Social Media Content Drafts document.
That document will include:
- Summary of your character information
- Summary of your book bible
- Social media theme guide
- Five social media concepts that can be used to prepare your marketing visuals
You will then review those concepts and select the ones you want to use in the image-generation stage.
Video Length: 9.53 minutes
This chapter will show you how to create your social media visuals using the concepts from your Social Media Content Drafts document.
You will begin by uploading your approved Social Media Content Drafts document together with any supporting visual references you have, such as:
- Your book cover
- Character images
- Your logo
- Emblems
- Established objects or symbols
- Other relevant image files
Video files are not used in this process.
You will first select one of the approved concepts from your Social Media Content Drafts document. AI will then use that concept and your supporting images to create a Square visual.
After downloading the Square image, you will use it to create:
- Vertical version
- Horizontal version
At the end of the process, you will have Square, Vertical, and Horizontal visuals for the same approved concept.
You can repeat this process for the other concepts selected in your Social Media Content Drafts document. Each time, begin with the Square image, then use that same Square image to create the Vertical and Horizontal versions.
